When we raise our level of expectations it challenges people to reach deeper & try harder. If we keep the standard low so people can do it then people will produce poorly.
The principle is simple: if you expect more people rise to your level of expectation. This always happens somewhere along the line before something great is accomplished.
Of course when you raise the bar we as leaders
have to step it up in our “leading by example.”
And, when you raise the bar at first some people will say “what are you serious? Come on!” But people are capable of more than they think they are and that’s why world-class
coaches produce championship teams: they demand more from their team and their team achieve more!
So ask yourself & perhaps even your team, “How or in what ways can I raise the bar & help us all leap higher than we ever thought?”
Winning teams have clearly defined & BIG expectations, and the discipline to match it.

If you walk around like you on the place eventually you might.
What this attitude does is cause you to become more of a servant and not less of a servant. It helps you gain influence with the people that you’re serving. Because when you walk around like you own the place you realize “if it is to be it’s up to me!”
Not the mentality of “it’s everybody’s place to do everything for me.”
You pick up the trash in the parking lot, the paper on the floor; you wipe down the bathroom counters, you greet guests & display hospitality & customer service.
You are thinking that if this is my company or my business then this is the field God has given me to labor in! And if I don’t rid the soil of weeds who will? If I don’t cultivate the soil who will? If I don’t pull the weeds & tend the crops who will? If I don’t spread the fertilizer who will? If I don’t bring in the harvest who will?
The company or church that you have found yourself in can be a fruitful field so walk around like you own the place and eventually you just might.

There is a mental sharpness that comes from being around good people. And a meeting of the minds can help people see the ideas with new clarity, refine them, & shape them into brilliant in sites.
This requires discussion-partners who can challenge each other & stimulate thought – people who focus on ideas & not on their egos in the conversation; people who km
Now how to attack the thought without attacking the thinker.
Two friends who bring their ideas & dreams together can help one another become “sharper.”
Proverbs 27:17. “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Unity has power! What is The Power of Unity?
Gen. 11:1-9 illustrates it very well.
The people of the earth had the same language & one tongue. Because they were all saying the same thing, & working in unity, even GOD said, “Now nothing that they endeavor will be impossible for them.” Wow! That is powerful! But because their goal was the exact opposite of God’s will, the Lord came down to “confuse their language.” This was a curse in a sense. The place was called “Babel” or confusion.
God always SPEAKS before He moves! i.e.: Lightening proceeds thunder. We have to speak before God’s Spirit will move! Hab. 2:2-4 God’s Word must go forth before His Spirit will move! Gen. 1:1-4
Lev. 25:9
Joshua lead the people of God in the shout (sound) BEFORE the walls of Jericho fell down!
There is always a SOUND! Ask God the tune your spiritual ears to discern the sound that He is sending forth & causing to rise up inside His people in the earth today.
Rev. 4:1-10

Many a person gets a reputation for being energetic when in truth, he is merely fidgety.
Enthusiasm is contagious! What IS enthusiasm?
1 a : belief in special revelations of the Holy Spirit b : religious fanaticism
2 a : strong excitement of feeling : ardor <did her work with energy and enthusiasm> b : something inspiring zeal or fervor.
Passion: ons as distinguished from reason b :ardent affection aka: Love.
Story:
There is a tale told of that great English actor Macready. An eminent preacher once said to him: “I wish you would explain to me something.” “Well, what is it? I don’t know that I can explain anything to a preacher.”
“What is the reason for the difference between you and me? You are appearing before crowds night after night with fiction, and the crowds come wherever you go. I am preaching the essential and unchangeable truth, and I am not getting any crowd at all.”
Macready’s answer was this: “This is quite simple. I can tell you the difference between us. I present my fiction as though it were truth; you present your truth as though it were fiction.”
Are you living the Truth like it IS the truth? Do people think you are possessed by God or “enthusiastic?”
Smile! It adds to your face value!

Luke 5:36
*The systems in our church train people to act & behave the way they do. In the OLD system, members expected you to babysit their kids whenever we had an event. Now we have people volunteering to MINISTER to our kids! (In fact, at a recent special service we had to “turn volunteers away”! GREAT problem to have.)
In the OLD system we did church for church folk; now we are creating an atmosphere where both Christians & pre-christians can engage God. The old system was “what can I get” now it’s “what can I bring?” The old system was having church instead of being the church.
Our church has a few critical systems: (Here’s some of them)
1. How we communicate Truth: We handle TIMELESS truth with a system that is perpetually changing so that we can more effectively connect with the culture.
2. How we integrate leaders: Church Community Builder (CCB.) Meetings are not the only or best way to pull leaders into our church. We do have hands on training for new volunteers. But also, CCB is like a modern day church directory we use to help leaders & members connect to one anther & to the church. It’s kind of like “Facebook” & our congregation is really starting to buy-in to it. Today’s culture is just tech-savy. i.e.: My son made an “F” on a paper because my wife didn’t’ check her email. It’s just part of our school’s system. Now we check our emails from the school daily.
3. System that CONNECTS people: Our GROUPS are a vital part of who we are and what we do! In the past year we have transitioned from a church with small groups to a church OF small groups.
4. System that MOBILIZE our church: Old system says, “Your primary responsibility as a christian is “come to church” vs “understanding what it means to BE the church.” A major focus of ours this year is OUTREACH. Not always “planned events” on the church calendar but through our groups “organically.”
5. System that Partners with families: JumpKids is really being “upgraded” right now thru parent involvement, parenting seminars coming soon, JKNewsletter, Twitters & blog with parenting tips. We are beginning to allocate a % of our time to think how we can strategically better partner with our families.
