God, grant me the Serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the Courage to change the one I can, and the Wisdom to know that person is me.
The next time you feel like GOD can’t use you, just remember…
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an adulterous affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
John the Baptist ate bugs
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small and short
Paul was too religious
Timothy had an ulcer…AND
Lazarus was dead!
No more excuses now. God can use you to your full potential.Besides you aren’t the message, you are just the messenger.
Scattered through the Bible are people who had the opportunity to do something great for God! Some succeeded; some failed.
Some of those that succeeded:
Abel – gave an offering that pleased the Lord. What offering does please the Lord? The one that He requests. The real question is: are you giving it to Him?
Enoch walked with God… & was not. How is your walk?
Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Abraham became the “friend of God.”
Joseph the Dreamer.
Mose the Deliverer.
Samuel the prophet – the Lord let none of his words fall to the ground!
David – a man after God’s own heart.
Elijah & Elisha – those mighty prophets that wrought miracles & raised the dead!
Ester – she saved her nation! “…for such a time as this!”
John the Baptist – as a voice cried out to a whole generation!
The Apostle Paul – wrote 2/3’s of the New Testament & forged the way for Christ’s new fledgling Church to multiply!
Let their example compel you to new levels of greatness! History makers are those who make life happen; not just watch it happen.

Scattered through the Bible are people who had the opportunity to do something great for God! Some embraced that opportunity while others neglected or ignored it. Some succeeded; some failed.
The shadows of time are gathering on the horizon of history & a new age is about to dawn: the age of no impossibilities! If you can dream it, God can do it! This is no time to sit on the sidelines – get in the game!
The time is coming when nominal Christianity will become extinct. And only those skilled at knowing God will survive in these last days. Those skilled in the Word and the Spirit of God. The prophet Daniel said those who KNOW their God will be strong and do great exploits!
You can often evaluate the value a person will bring by how aware they are of their DESTINY. This awareness only comes from our intimacy with God. I believe we all have an innate sense that we were born for significance, but most let life slip by without ever embracing their Great Opportunity.
Will you?

That’s right. Search the New Testament: Jesus never asked us or commanded us to worship Him – He only asked us to be LIKE HIM.
It seems to me that doing this is the KEY to accurately being the Body of Christ in our culture with effectiveness & power.

Focus – A center of interest or activity; Close or narrow attention; to concentrate energy.
Nothing that is valuable is achieved without focus & effort. Fritz Kreisler, the famous violinist, testified to this point when he said, “Narrow is the road that leads to the life of a violinist. Hour after hour, day after day and week after week, for years, I lived with my violin. There were so many things that I wanted to do that I had to leave undone; there were so many places I wanted to go that I had to miss if I was to master the violin. The road that I traveled was a narrow road and the way was hard.”
“When I was a boy, my father, a baker, introduced me to the wonders of song,” tenor Luciano Pavarotti relates. “He urged me to work very hard to develop my voice. Arrigo Pola, a professional tenor in my hometown of Modena, Italy, took me as a pupil. I also enrolled in a teachers college. On graduating, I asked my father, ‘Shall I be a teacher or a singer?’ “‘Luciano,’ my father replied, ‘if you try to sit on two chairs, you will fall between them. For life, you must choose one chair.’ “I chose one. It took seven years of study and frustration before I made my first professional appearance. It took another seven to reach the Metropolitan Opera. And now I think whether it’s laying bricks, writing a book–whatever we choose–we should give ourselves to it. Commitment, that’s the key. Choose one chair.”
A weakness of all human beings, “Henry Ford said, “is trying to do too many things at once. That scatters effort and destroys direction. It makes for haste, and haste makes waste. So we do things all the wrong ways possible before we come to the right one. Then we think it is the best way because it works, and it was the only way left that we could see. Every now and then I wake up in the morning headed toward that finality, with a dozen things I want to do. I know I can’t do them all at once.” When asked what he did about that, Ford replied, “I go out and trot around the house. While I’m running off the excess energy that wants to do too much, my mind clears and I see what can be done and should be done first.”
What will you intentionally neglect this year so you can focus on what really matters?

A REMINDER of what the 7 categories or baskets of your life are:
1. Spiritual
2. Family
3. Personal Growth
4. Financial
5. Social
6. Professional
7. Physical
By now you should have set one measurable priority for each of the 7 areas of your life for 2010. If you have & if you work the plan, you will have a very fulfilling & balanced year.
Remember: schedule is the key to Balance. Get a plan; work the plan. Don’t make the mistake of getting bored, tired or discouraged. It’s always too soon to quit!
“If you aim at nothing you will hit it every time.” Bro. Jim Wideman
Peace Out!

That’s right – just a quick reminder: my pastors, Mark & Janet Brazee, will be at Harvest Church TONIGHT!

See you in a bit!
Pastor Kevin
At this point in discussing the “7 Baskets”, Balance, Schedule, Focus, Vision, etc. you SHOULD have been putting some serious thought & prayer into what’s REALLY important for this new year. If you STILL are unsure of where you’re headed this year then go back over the last 2 week’s blogs & stir up your heart to apprehend God’s voice & plan for your year. This – knowing the way GOD said it is to be – is imperative if you are to be “ALL IN in 2010!”
